Whether you are a local resident or a visitor to the area, you are sure to find something that will thrill and delight you.

Autumn

As the leaves start changing colour and the air gets crisper, Parramatta comes alive with a number of festivals and events. The Parramasala Festival is a vibrant celebration of the many cultures and communities that make up the city. It features live music, dance, arts, and delicious food from all over the world.

If you are up for some outdoor adventure, head to the Cumberland State Forest for a spot of mountain biking or bushwalking. You can also visit the nearby Bella Vista Farm Open Day and check out the heritage-listed homestead and local produce.

Winter

Winter in Parramatta means celebrating all things Christmas and the holiday season. The Riverside Theatre hosts a range of shows and productions that are perfect for the whole family. You can also hit the ice and go ice-skating at the outdoor rink at Prince Alfred Square.

For those looking for a bit of indoor fun, head to the Parramatta Eels Rugby League games at the Bankwest Stadium or check out the many shopping centers in the area for some retail therapy.

Spring

Spring is the season of renewal and rejuvenation, and Parramatta is no exception. The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in September, where you can witness the delicate cherry blossoms in bloom at the Auburn Botanic Gardens. You can also head to the Parramatta Park to take a stroll amongst the iconic jacaranda trees which are in full bloom during this season.

For adrenaline junkies, the Sydney Speedway season starts in September, where you can catch some high-speed action on the track.

Summer

Summer in Parramatta is all about soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the outdoors. The Parramatta Lanes Festival is a popular event that happens in November, featuring street food, art installations, and live music. You can also visit the Parramatta River for some kayaking or paddleboarding or visit the Whitewater Stadium for some white water rafting.

For an evening under the stars, head to the Moonlight Cinema at the Parramatta Park where you can watch the latest blockbuster movies under the stars.

All year round

If you are looking for something to do regardless of the season, the Parramatta River Foreshore is a great starting point. You can take a leisurely walk along the riverbanks, rent a bike or a boat, or visit some of the area's historical sites and landmarks.

You can also visit some of the many museums and galleries in the area, including the Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre, the Old Government House, and the Elizabeth Farm. For art lovers, the Parramatta Artists Studios is a great place to visit, featuring exhibitions and workshops showcasing local talent.
